We're Building a Race Bike
The bike portion of this campaign has turned into an adventure of its own.
Finding the right frame. Tracking down compatible parts. Learning components I couldn't have identified a few weeks earlier. Discovering that apparently every bicycle component ever manufactured has at least three standards that look nearly identical and absolutely do not fit each other.
Then the Montgomery Bicycle Club stepped in.
They're helping build the race bike that will carry Tri For The 22 through the 56-mile bike leg in Chattanooga.
This is more than a piece of equipment. It's becoming a community-built bike, assembled through people willing to contribute parts, knowledge, time, and connections to get it onto the road.
There will be much more to this story.
For now:
Thank you, Montgomery Bicycle Club.
We're building a race bike.
